Daufuskie Island Church
In the heart of the historic district on a gorgeous oak-lined dirt road, come and listen for the church bells. They ring with joy each Sunday morning at 10AM from the 134-year-old tower at First Union African Baptist Church, a non-denominational community church. Dr. Clarence Edmondson, Pastor, has labored tirelessly in his 11th year to build the church's role in the community. Most recently a food bank and other outreach programs have been initiated to help those in need.
Prior to worship, a bible study is conducted at 9:15. Children are welcomed and inspired in the craft-filled children's program. During worship the Bible will be taught, pianists recruited, and your name learned. It is a service as unique as the island itself, but with the Bible first and foremost as the source of authority.
All are welcome!
