The Daufuskie Company is as proud of what Daufuskie has become - an incredible showcase of nature's beauty - as we are of what it has not - an overbuilt, characterless beach resort.Charles Cauthen's vision for Daufuskie was to create a community without paved streets . . . using oyster shells and sand forever left unconnected to the mainland by bridge.
