Daufuskie Island School
"There's a school on the island?" is the most common question islanders hear when "overseas" on nearby Hilton Head. YES! The Daufuskie Island Elementary School currently serves children pre k through fifth grade. At different times it has served up through the eighth grade. There are two primary classrooms and teachers and one full-time assistant. Students enjoy a relaxed environment, where mixed ages learn and play together. There are no lines of parents idling in their cars at the end of the day, nor any huge campuses in which to feel lost. And teachers and staff are friendly and approachable.
